Ourlads' Profile:
2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JOHN HIGHTOWER: Boise State, 6014 189 4.43. Two-year starter, Landover, MD. Spent two seasons at Hinds CC in Mississippi. Second-team All Mountain West in 2019 as both a receiver and kick returner. The former track athlete was a late bloomer on the gridiron that was scooped up by Boise State for the 2018 and 2019 seasons. He scored 14 touchdowns over that span and was the team’s primary deep threat. He also proved he can be a factor in the return game and someone that can be used on jet sweeps and reverses. Has a sprinter’s frame with the straight line speed to take a top off the defense. Easy flowing lower body with enough looseness and flexibility. Very aware of boundaries and does a nice job of getting his feet down after the catch. Shows plus coordination and balance. Has been used and has been productive across multiple roles. Can make things happen after the catch stemming from good vision and short area burst. Doesn’t hold his ground against contact, needs more core strength. Struggles in contested situations. Will have the occasional concentration drop. 2019 stats: 51-943, 18.5 ypr, 8 TD, 26-639 KOR, 24.6 avg, 1 TD. OSR:10/51. Third/fourth round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 3/4, VJ-38.5, SS-4.21).
