Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about JAVON WIMS: Georgia, 6027 215 4.58. One-year starter from Miami, FL. Transfer from Hinds (MS) Junior College. Good-sized outside receiver with mediocre long speed for the position. Has quick hands that make late adjustments to pluck the ball out of the air. Has very good ball skills with good timing on jump balls. Made a career out of securing contested catches. Was very successful at snagging back shoulder throws. Maximizes catch radius with good tracking ability and squaring his shoulders to attack the catch. His route work needs work. He is not very sudden nor does he have the top end speed to threaten defensive back’s cushion. Most NFL defensive backs will be able to sit on his short routes. Lacks route strength and gets pushed to sidelines too much. Will have to learn the position better and develop some separation technique to excel at the next level. Right now he is a better athlete than receiver. Overall he is a good-sized prospect who has very good ball skills to transfer to the next level. However, he is very raw at the position and needs time to develop better route running abilities. 2017 stats: 45-720, 16 ypr, 7 TD. OSR:34/45. Sixth/seventh round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 1/4, VJ-33.5, SS-4.53).
