Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about WILLIAM DUNKLE:
San Diego State, 6047 328 5.44. Three-year starter, Chula Vista, CA. Earned first-team All-Mountain West honors in 2021, honorable mention in 2019. He is best regarded in the running game where he is a true difference maker. His overwhelming size from the waist up swallows defenders and he plays with a finisher’s mentality. Gets a bit too lean-happy when engaged and needs to improve his footwork. He plants his feet too early which has a negative impact on his adjustment speeds. This is a developmental interior blocker who has correctable issues attached to a rare level of natural power and pop. Mammoth size. Enormous upper body that carries more than its proportion of his weight. Thinner lower half that promotes solid straight-line speed and burst. An absolute shield against the bull rush. Rarely loses ground when engaged with a defender. Plays with a mauler’s mentality. Specializes in the running game with how fast he gets on defenders. Has the natural explosive power on contact. Defenders often end up on the ground when he lines them up. Too dependent on his upper body and needs to show more fluid footwork. Heavy feet that show a lack of flexion at the ankle. Late to recognize and physically react to lateral movement. A liability against complex pass rushers inside. Body control and balance are inconsistent.
OSR:49/51. Seventh round/PFA. (A-33 5/8, H-10 1/4, BP-25, 10-1.85).
