Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about NOAH ELLISS:

Idaho, 6042 346 5.62. Junior entry, three-year starter, Highlands Ranch, CO. Honorable Mention All-Big Sky honors in 2021. Has two brothers in the NFL (Kaden with New Orleans and Christian with Philadelphia) and is the son of former NFL All-Pro Luther, the current defensive line coach for the Vandals. Elliss was a rare four-star recruit that landed at Idaho after initially committing to Mississippi State, looking past offers from several other SEC programs including Alabama. The size and comfortable movement patterns in all directions stand out. There simply are not many humans that weigh nearly 350 pounds and move the way he does. He is a bit behind when it comes to repeatable techniques, but the tool set is there to be coached up and his NFL lineage will only help the confidence that he will reach his high upside. Early on he can be a rotational run defender and later on he could be an important piece to a 3-4 front as a starter. Space-eating frame with surprising foot speed in short areas. A comfortable athlete on the move in all directions attached to a frame that can swallow plenty of space and multiple blockers. Gets off blocks and accelerates to the ball. Will finish with a final gear that also brings violent contact to the ball carrier. Can maintain his ground even though there are shortcomings to his techniques. Has the capability of bending at the right places and plays with fluid movement. Has a wide margin for possible improvement. Too much of a leaner and gets tall. Exposes too much of his already-sizable upper body to the blocker. Does not offer much as a pass rusher and likely won’t be an every down player in the NFL. Needs to strengthen his lower half so it can catch up to the effectiveness and size above the waist. Poor footwork will cause occasional balance shortcomings. Because of a shoulder injury and Covid-19, has played in just 22 career games.

2021 stats: 29 T, 2 TFL, 1 sack. OSR:34/36. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 1/4, H-10 3/8, BP-DNP, 10-1.86).
