Was a good overall athlete in high school where he played basketball and was a soccer goalkeeper for four years. Was rated the number one punter in the country by 247sports.com, number three punter by ESPN. Averaged 46.1 yards per punt as a prep. Pinion was the starting punter and kickoff specialist for the Tigers the past two seasons. Pinion’s ability to flip the field and dominate on kickoffs consistently improved to the point where he can punt in the three field zones with good hang time and distance. Confident in his ability. Punted 102 times without a touchback. Forty-two punts were planted inside the 20 before his first touchback in 2014. Finished seventh in school history in punting average. He had 17 punts travel over 50 yards this past fall and also was the backup placekicker. He did not hold for placements. Needs to work on continued quickness on get-off and ball placement on directional kicks. Sixth/seventh round. (A-32 1/4, H-10 1/8).
