2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about MARKQUESE BELL:
Florida A&M, 6021 212 4.41. Three-year starter, Bridgeton, NJ. Excellent size and speed for the position. Experience in a variety of coverage including working in the box and one and two high. An enforcer in run support he tracks downhill from quarters and the box with a closing burst. Physical attacking blocks he is quick to shed working to the ball. Takes good angles and closes the gap quickly launching into tackles. Moves well laterally and has outstanding range in pursuit. Good zone awareness in the short zones and has the speed to track over the top. Sudden break on the ball on intermediate and short throws. Flashes ability to match tight ends but struggles to mirror sudden route breaks. Tends to play upright and his backpedal can be herky-jerky allowing receivers to get up on his toes. Tight hips inhibit change of direction causing wasted steps slowing his reactions. Dives at tackles and while mostly effective has had some misses in space. Bell is an old school strong safety that may find a role as a hybrid. Will be scheme dependent and special teams will be important if he is to make a team.
