2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about JACK SANBORN:
Wisconsin, 6015 234 4.73. Three-year starter, Deer Park, IL. First-team All-Big 10 in 2021. Solid-sized linebacker prospect in terms of height and weight. Short arms on a built torso with a muscular lower body. Played almost exclusively downhill in Wisconsin’s defensive scheme. Explodes downhill and wins at the point of attack versus offensive linemen by engaging with violence and pad level. Uses functional strength to drive back offensive linemen on initial contact. Shows hand strength to shed and get off blocks at the first and second level. Finishes tackles in the box with proper form, and will stalemate running backs on initial contact to prevent yards after contact. Shows great effort and foot speed in pursuit. In limited reps, a capable zone coverage defender who flows with the quarterback’s eyes and breaks on the ball accordingly. As a blitzer, can win with power and pressure the quarterback. Slow processing speed to react quickly to run/pass reads. Does not stand out athletically and is slow to change direction and lacks agility to work through traffic. Has difficulty leveraging the running back on outside run plays due to lack of lateral agility, and needs to improve angles to the perimeter.
2021 stats: 91 T, 16 TFL, 5 sacks, 4 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.13, right 2.12. OSR:38/42. Sixth/seventh round. (A-30 1/2, H-9 5/8, BP-20, 10-1.58).
