Texas Tech, 6054 306 5.12. Three-year starter, Frisco, TX. Two-time captain. A taller-than-usual body for the center position but he played with a unique, hard-to-find level of mobility throughout his lower body joints. Naturally plays with a low center of gravity and is rarely found losing the leverage battle. His technique and pad level are consistent. Does not look very comfortable as an abrupt lateral mover. Reaching the B gap post-snap will be a challenge; thus he projects to a gap scheme rather than zone. There is starter potential here once he can enhance his core strength. Outstanding mobility and stability throughout his entire lower body. A natural bender at the knees and ankles with a wide squat, allowing him to create a bigger base to work from. Stays square with his hands inside. Consistent positioning throughout engagement. Feet are chopping at all times, keeping him twitchy and balanced. Shows a strong latch to both linebackers and linemen. Needs to develop more core strength. Does not always hold his ground against inside run defenders. Struggles to quickly reach his lateral points. Long-legged body type will make it tough for him to play fast. Struggles to adjust his weight smoothly in pass protection.
