2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about PERCY BUTLER:
Louisiana, 6001 194 4.36. Three-year starter, Plaquemine, LA. Second-team All-Sun Belt in 2021. High upside safety with blazing speed. Played primarily in a quarters scheme with some one and two high along with playing in the box. Aggressive player he has a physical style flying around the field making plays. Can get over the top and balance vertical routes in the deep zones. Flashes ball skills with a burst reacting on the throw. Shows decent vision reading the quarterback and route combinations. Has solid hands and has made some clutch interceptions. Makes some big hits separating receivers from the ball. Has shown some match skill and can cover tight ends and slots up the field. Explodes into tackles tracking downhill in run support. Flashes tackle form gathering and driving through tackles. Makes a lot of plays in the alley from distance and in the box. Tackling can be hit or miss as he will dive at the ankles at times and completely whiff. His aggressive style can create bad angles both over and under-running the ball. His style also has made him prone to play fakes. He needs to play with more discipline without losing his high motor. Has been an absolute terror as a gunner on the punt team and in kick coverage. Has timed some remarkable tackles blowing up returners with perfect timing on the catch. He has upside and tools to develop. He should be an instant core special team player from day one.
