2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about ZACH CARTER:
Florida, 6042 282 4.99. Two-year starter, Tampa, FL. Has rotated between tackle and end along the defensive line over his career. Has the body and tool set to fit well into a hybrid front. He has the natural power to win the lockout game against bigger blockers, both inside and out. His strong hands can shed the grip of a blocker to at least free a shoulder against the run. His pass rush potential may not be as high because he struggles to turn a tight corner and there is not an explosive tool set below the waist. Projects as a versatile backup who will add some physical presence up front but will have limited impact as a pass rusher. Muscle-filled frame with minimal loose meat and well-distributed mass. Plays a power-game with tremendous lockout strength. Can keep his hips low, knees bent, and hands on an upward path when approaching a blocker. Big, powerful mitts that are in the chest plate of his opponent in a hurry with consistent accuracy. Has inside-out versatility. An elite run defender on the outside that can two-gap. Will create mismatches from the inside as a pass rusher with his twitch and use of leverage. Below average burst up the edge as a pure outside rusher. Shows heavy feet and lack of lateral quickness. Lacks variety when it comes to rush moves. Spin move is not effective, has a hard time escaping from the body of a wide and long blocker. Does not stay square as an inside run defender against the double team.
