2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about LUKE GOEDEKE:
Central Michigan, 6042 312 5.29. Two-year starter, Whitelaw, WI. Missed all of 2020 after a knee injury that required surgery. First-team All-MAC in 2021. Played right tackle all but one snap over his career. He shows dominant traits in the running game that stem from a combination of mentality and hand strength. Locks on with active feet and uses all his mass to get movement off the line. He plays with solid top to bottom cohesion and understands the angle-battle well. His size and lack of pure athletic ability may force a move inside, but he should at least get a look at tackle. He is a fighter, one who relishes the role of being a security guard. He can be the important sixth lineman that can man different spots when injuries arise, with the upside of being a starter down the road. Sturdy, but quick-footed frame with some extra juice once engaged. A pure hands fighter that does a nice job of staying attached via sticky hands and an active lower half. Can turn his hips easily. Will keep his chest up, knees bent with proper ankle flexion. Excels with combo blocks coming off the line to the second level. Plays with a nasty demeanor. Ends up on the ground over the defender often. Inconsistent pad level as a run blocker. Overuses his upper body when engaged and won’t roll his hips. Explosion and speed off the ball is not enough to match NFL speed.
Fourth/fifth round. (A-32 1/4, H-9 3/4, BP-26, 10-DNP).
