2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KYLE HAMILTON:
Notre Dame, 6041 220 4.59. Junior entry, two-year starter, Atlanta, GA. Made several All-America teams as a sophomore in 2020 and junior in 2021 to go with first-team All-ACC in 2020. Rare athlete that combines height, length, size and quickness to go with football intelligence. He’s versatile as he’s used in one high, Cover two and four along with dropping to the box and matching slot receivers. Smooth in movements he can change directions in transition and open up or flip his hips to cover ground in the deep zones. Solid processing route combinations he balances multiple receivers in one and two high coverage. Will also drop to the low hole as a robber. Quarterbacks have to know where he is at all times. Excellent ball skills he shows tremendous acceleration with the ball in the air and is adept at getting to the catch point. Has a remarkable ability to extend for interceptions. Shows outstanding range in pursuit and in the deep zones. Gets downhill in a hurry in run support and can be explosive tackling. Drives through tackles coming downhill. Has match skill and can cover tight ends and big slot receivers with ability to mirror route breaks and stay in phase on vertical routes. Struggles some with shifty smaller slot receivers but shows recovery ability if separated. Can overrun a play on occasion and has some trouble with change of direction in space. Can get caught staring in the backfield in coverage at times. Tends to play high on blocks affecting shed ability. Will tackle high at times giving up some yards after contact. Has some minor holes, most of which are correctable but will be able to play in any scheme. Should be an impact NFL safety that can be used in several roles.
