Ourlads' Profile:

2020 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about JAMES LYNCH: Baylor, 6035 289 4.98. Junior entry, two-year starter, Round Rock, TX. Earned first-team All Big 12 honors both seasons. He really broke out as a junior, winning the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year Award while gathering 19.5 TFL and 13.5 sacks. He also caused three fumbles, broke up five passes, and blocked two kicks. Completely dominated despite not having top tier tools. Plays smart and physical with a style that can fit into multiple roles across multiple schemes. He projects to be a sturdy 3-4 defensive end that will make the occasional play in addition to doing a lot of the dirty work. Country strong, farmer thick. Sturdy body with the playing style to support it. Can play the role of a boulder between the tackles that can two gap. Strong anchor and shows a knack for getting off blocks. A natural feel for the action post-snap. Reads the blocker and takes the right angle toward the ball. Plays low to the ground and can turn a tight corner. Production sky rocketed in 2019. Athletically limited. Doesn’t have juice out of his snap and won’t chase action down from behind. Lack of adjustment-speed shows up often. Needs to use his hands as weapons more. Gets locked onto by bigger blockers and will struggle to free himself. Lacks variety as a pass rusher. 2019 stats: 41 T, 19.5 TFL, 13.5 sacks, 5 PBU, 13 QBH, 3 FF, 2 BK. Edge speed:left 2.07, right 2.12. Fourth/fifth round. (A-31 7/8, H-9 7/8, BP-DNP, 10-DNP).
