Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about BEN BANOGU: TCU, 6034 250 4.61. Two year starter at TCU from McKinney, TX. Transferred from Louisiana-Monroe where he started as a red-shirt freshman. Used as an edge defender in a two-point stance he was a disruptive force with an explosive first step and elite athleticism. Quick to change directions and adjust on the move. He was consistently making plays on the edge in chase mode. Able to make plays down the line with instinctive lateral movement. Turns quickness into power playing versus a tight end or tackle. Able to hold the point against tight ends. Effective on inside stunts-hitting gaps and working up field. As a pass rusher he consistently gets up field and is powerful enough to push the pocket. Has the quickness to get around the corner. Also uses quick inside counter moves to keep tackles off balance. He is a forceful tackler but will miss occasionally by not gathering to balance. Somewhat raw in pass rush technique as he relies on speed and quickness without consistent hand usage. Needs to develop shed ability as he has trouble escaping versus powerful athletic tackles. Undersized for an every down end but has the athletic versatility to play linebacker and saw time there at the Senior Bowl. He was definitely not out of place and could project to outside linebacker in a variety of schemes. Will have to develop coverage skills but his athletic ability makes him a good bet. Projects as an outstanding special team player and sub package rusher who could develop into a versatile every down player. 2018 stats: 57 T, 18 TFL, 8.5 sacks, 10 QBH, 2 FF, 2 FR (1 TD). Edge speed:left 2.09, right 2.10. OSR:3/31. Third/fourth round. (A-33 5/8, H-9, BP-23, 10-1.61).
