Ourlads' Profile:

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about LJ COLLIER: TCU, 6022 283 4.94. Fifth year senior and one year starter from Munday, TX. A rotational player for the first three years of his career, Collier finally got the starting nod in 2018 and ended up on the first-team All Big 12 defense. The 280-pounder with top-tier length and easy knee bend showed pro-caliber technique and a never ending engine. He brings a physical brand to the line and showed enough production as an inside rusher to give him the versatility that most teams want on third down. While his impact as a speed rusher is limited, the ways he can help a defense are too numerous to overlook. An underrated prospect who will be a better pro than he was in college. Developed body that holds his weight well. A lot of muscle and functional short-area athleticism. Really long arms paired with strong hands often give him the initial advantage on contact with the blocker. Couple that with consistent, easy knee bend. Always the low man, rarely gets pushed back. Shows good awareness in traffic. Balanced athlete that is accurate with his feet and hands. Makes tight turns while maintaining his power and balance. On-demand power and a violent finisher. Can chase the action from behind, plus straight line speed at his size. Hustler that plays through the whistle at all times. Burst and acceleration off the ball won’t put a blocker on his heels. Won’t miss contact from blockers, lacks the twitch. Does not have the next gear in traffic to really seal the deal. Limited on the outside. 2018 stats: 42 T, 11.5 TFL, 6 sacks, 4 PBU. 5 QBH. Edge speed:left 2.13, right 2.13. OSR:28/31. Third/fourth round. (A-34, H-10, BP-25, 10-1.76).
