These are not final stacks - just where we currently stand at this middle portion of the process.

1)    Jayden Daniels / LSU

Following a transfer from the Pac-12 to the SEC, Daniels not only elevated his play but took home the Heisman Trophy and nearly rivaled the production from fellow Tiger Joe Burrow’s 2019 season, arguably the best in NCAA history.

·      Strengths

o   Dual threat with “Lamar-type” running ability

o   Explosive plays without compromising ball security

o   Fast mind, even faster release

·      One Question

o   Can his body type withstand beatings from NFL defenders?

2)      Caleb Williams / USC

While the encore to his Heisman Trophy-winning 2022 season did not match the almost-unfair expectations, there are things he can do with both his arms and legs that no other prospect in years can or could have.

·      Strengths

o   Creativity and innovation skills

o   Arm power while on the move, either direction

o   Downfield passing attack

·      One Question

o   Can he learn to balance playing on schedule and creating on his own?

3)    Drake Maye / North Carolina

He fits mold of a classic, prototype pocket passer that can work all levels and angles of the route tree and has steadily improved with a supporting cast that did not do him a lot of favors.

·      Strengths

o   Downfield passing

o   Pocket awareness and maneuverability

o   Willingness to work the middle of the field

·      One Question

o   Can he set up his pass catchers with better ball placement to maximize yards after the catch?

4)    Bo Nix / Oregon

The most experienced quarterback in history, Nix has been in high-pressure situations with multiple programs and ended his career by leading  his team to consecutive top six total offense finishes.

·      Strengths

o   Will create with both his legs and arm on the move

o   Sturdy, athletic build is strong against contact

o   Ball security and decision making

·      One Question

o   How much of his elite production derived from simple, one-read plays?

5)    Michael Penix / Washington

After playing just 20 games over four seasons at Indiana (all of which ended with injuries to his knee and both shoulders), he revived his career at Washington showing a level of resilience and maturity to complement his big arm and gunslinger mentality.

·      Strengths

o   Stays on time and gets the ball out in a hurry

o   Mentally and emotionally battle-tested

o   Ball placement on downfield throws

·      One Question

o   How well will he respond to real pressure in his face?
