Finalist for Rimington Trophy
The first LSU lineman in a decade to be named All-SEC more than once, Clapp accomplished it at two positions. Moved to center last season after two years at guard, helping pave the way for LSU to produce a 1,000-yard rusher in each season (Leonard Fournette 2015, Derrius Guice 2016-17). Led the Tigers with 72 knockdown blocks last season, playing every snap in nine of LSU’s 13 outings. Collected 218 knockdowns over his three years in Baton Rouge, starting 36 of a possible 37 games. Sidelines for 2016 contest vs. Southern Miss with a shoulder injury. Dad Tommy was an LSU defensive lineman in the 1980s; they are the only father/son duo to serve as full-season captains for the Tigers. Brother Matt was a walk-on fullback at LSU last year.
