2021 NFL Prospect Rankings: Offensive Tackles

Oregon

Projected Round: 1

Ourlads' Snippet - Has elite potential that stems from his combination of size, athleticism, and techniques. A consistent weapon in the trenches that has an extremely high win rate both as a run and pass blocker. He is a comfortable mover. Has outstanding hand strength, and always looks under full control no matter the situation. Checks all the boxes when looking at the physical requirements of a left tackle. Tall and thick with easy ability to carry a lot of weight on a nicely developed frame. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Northwestern

Projected Round: 1

Ourlads' Snippet - May be best suited to make the move to guard like Zack Martin did coming out of Notre Dame when he was drafted by Dallas. No matter where he plays, he will be ready for a starting role early on in his career. Technically sound, plays smart, and has the athletic ability to handle the speed of the NFL right away. Has top shelf hand and foot speed. Can lock onto any kind of defender and at the very least, slow him down. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Virginia Tech

Projected Round: 1

Ourlads' Snippet - He checks a lot of boxes when it comes to size, athletic ability, and body control. He is rarely found off balance or losing his base. Shows the hard to find, unique trait of getting on his man and sticking to him like a magnet. That initial hand placement combined with such a stable and twitchy lower half can enable him to mirror defenders that play the speed game. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Michigan

Projected Round: 1/2

Ourlads' Snippet - Carries a lot of weight on a big and wide frame and it certainly plays a role in his dominant run blocking. When he gets a strong punch and maintains inside hand position he looks lethal. Still pretty raw when it comes to techniques in pass protection and overall staying power. Has starter-upside and could make a move inside where his pop off the ball could factor earlier in his career. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Clemson

Projected Round: 1/2

Ourlads' Snippet - There is a possibility his game could be better suited for interior play where his ability to move defenders off the ball and anchor his position naturally and consistently would be of better service. Regardless of where he plays, he fits into a power blocking scheme right away and should be able to contribute in year one. Outstanding natural power presence that can make him look like a man among boys at times. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

North Dakota State

Projected Round: 2/3

Ourlads' Snippet - Has elite body control and balance and it led to him being dominant at the FCS level. He went to the Senior Bowl and had a solid week against the better competition. This is the kind of offensive lineman that has all of the movement and balance traits. He is an ideal fit for a heavy zone-blocking scheme and if he reaches his upside, you are talking about a very solid left tackle for a long time. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Northern Iowa

Projected Round: 2/3

Ourlads' Snippet - Overall, he will likely not hit his ceiling until year two or three in the NFL, but he has rare traits and Pro Bowl upside. There are only so many humans that are 6084 with his feet and ability to bend their knees, and most of them are playing power forward in the NBA. Elite combination of height, weight, length and athletic ability. Rare flexibility for such a tall lineman. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Notre Dame

Projected Round: 2/3

Ourlads' Snippet - He is a throwback, blue collar lineman who gets the job done consistently through technique, grit, and desire. Where he lacks physical talent and ability through tools and traits, he can make up for in his approach and mental game. May need to make a move inside but no matter where he lines up, he is the kind of lineman that plays to a higher result than the sum of his parts. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Oklahoma State

Projected Round: 2/3

Ourlads' Snippet - Has experience at both tackle spots, although he was predominantly on the right side. An old school mauler who cherishes the opportunity to run block. He already has man strength and it was evident he was playing against boys at times in college. He checks the boxes when it comes to size, playing strength, and attitude. Needs to clean up his essential and vital techniques. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Texas

Projected Round: 3/4

Ourlads' Snippet - A tall and athletic tackle with good hand striking and fighting. Has an aggressive style that will work well in the running game. Gets a solid initial pop and is athletic enough to stay on defenders as he moves downhill. His issues consistently pop up in pass protection, however. His high hips and lack of knee bend make it very difficult for him to stay balanced and upright. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Stanford

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - He is one of the biggest mysteries in this class. His body and initial techniques look like a prototype. His natural athleticism and heavy hands further enhance the notion he can be an immediate starter. The floor is there for him to be a quality starting tackle, but the questions are way too many to consider him anything close to a sure thing. Week one of his rookie season will mark just over three years since his last live-game action. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Miami University

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - Has a massive frame and carries his 318 pounds with ease. His length frustrates rushers and allows him to compete with smaller, faster defensive ends. His footwork is very clean and he displays explosiveness off of the line of scrimmage. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - Primarily played left tackle for the high-scoring Cougars’ offense. Has feistiness to him off the ball, getting out of his stance in a hurry with his hands up and ready. He consistently punches first and will hand-fight for positioning through the whistle. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Iowa

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - He is a powerful and physical player who has flashed dominant stretches over his career. His lower body mechanics need to be cleaned up and there may be an issue with his length as an exterior pass blocker, but he should fit into a backup role with the potential of being a starter down the road. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Stanford

Projected Round: 5/6

Ourlads' Snippet - Only started 17 games over his career but possesses an NFL body and plays with very quick, active feet. He was the emotional leader of the Stanford offensive line and is clearly a try-hard player who will get the most out of himself. There are multiple technique shortcomings but they all stem from his over-aggression, which will cause him to overset and reach. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Florida

Projected Round: 5/6

Ourlads' Snippet - Overall the rangy blocker projects as a good swing tackle for a gap blocking team. Fairs much better in pass protection than run blocking due to his inherent leverage disadvantage. Should be good depth and still has some upside to ascend. Outstanding size, bulk and length. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Notre Dame

Projected Round: 5/6

Ourlads' Snippet - Versatile with the skill-set to play all offensive line positions. Patient in pass pro and can mirror. Inside hands. Solid second level blocker. Works until the echo of the whistle. Consistent. Good mental processing. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Missouri

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - Experience at both right tackle and left guard. Plays tall from a two-point stance with marginal knee bend. Has a tendency to narrow his base as a pass protector. Works to shadow an upfield pass rusher but has a tendency to get his feet off balance. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Wisconsin

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - Comes off the ball high with very little knee bend. Not a lot of movement on short yardage and goal-line. In pass protection he gains and keeps position. Gives effort to stick to his block. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Cincinnati

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - He is still incredibly raw and inexperienced, but there is absolutely no denying his physical talent and upside. He has a lot to learn and clean up but there is a level of explosion, twitch, and power here that very few can match. It may take a year-plus, but he could be a starting tackle or guard for a long time, and a very good one. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

East Carolina

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - An undersized but athletic blocker who shows foot speed and twitch. He moves at a different level of speed and quickness off the ball. When he maintains his balance and technique, he looks like a pro. He may be best suited for guard in the NFL, as he doesn’t look comfortable in sustained pass protection in space. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Western Michigan

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - A quick twitch athlete with thick hips and legs. Solid base. Long arms and meat hooks for hands. Pass blocking is the most important skill for linemen nowadays and Moore can shuffle slide to wall a speed rush but not consistently. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Illinois State

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - Overall he projects as a developmental tackle that starts off on the practice squad and eventually develops into a quality swing tackle after a year or two. He is a smart, hard working player with tools who wants to get better. Rare height and good length. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Nebraska

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - He is a little undersized for the outside. Has the athletic ability to somewhat make up for it, but his true power and strength are lagging as well. Plays the game hard and was a productive blocker throughout his career. Projects as a backup who could be on the depth chart at multiple spots. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Kentucky

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Mature long torso tackle who plays with good knee band. A consistent and effective run and pass blocker. Has the power and explosiveness to decleat a defender. Smart and heady in his play. Good body control with the ability to recover. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Oklahoma

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Projects as a reserve right tackle with offensive guard flexibility. He lacks the movement skills to play in a zone scheme. Good height and bulk. Solid strength and finishes well to get push in the run game. Can anchor against power and has a strong punch. Is tough and has some attitude to him. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Purdue

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Underrated left tackle who plays in a two point stance in a spread offense. Plays square in pass protection and is patient yet aggressive. Mirrors his target up the field in pass pro and is powerful on down blocks. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Texas A&M

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - A vastly experienced tackle with plus-size and hand strength. When he has his feet and hips lined up, he can lock onto the defender and maintain control of the engagement. He is a fighter that brings good effort and intensity to the trenches. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Texas A&M

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Projects as a good swing tackle for a zone blocking scheme. Good combination of height, length, and quick feet. Plays sudden and aware. Good athlete who can bend his knees. Has the quickness to zone cutoff. Has the ability to block in space. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.
