2021 NFL Prospect Rankings: Guards

Projected Round: 1/2

Ourlads' Snippet - Made the move from guard to left tackle this past season, proving to be an equally effective talent at both spots. That kind of versatility and consistent production will weigh a lot for teams that have multiple question marks along their offensive line. He is a nasty, powerful off the ball blocker who will stifle defenders and stick to them with active feet. He can mirror his man while playing a strong, effective game. Ohio State

Projected Round: 2/3

Ourlads' Snippet - An easy prospect to be attracted to. A mauler inside with ideal size across the board. Has the mentality and look of an angus bull. Naturally thick and athletic with a wide frame, long arms, and powerful hands. Has an anchor that screws into the ground like a tree. Excellent power presence that shows up against the bull rush and as a downhill blocker. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Tennessee

Projected Round: 3/4

Ourlads' Snippet - An oversized guard who will occasionally struggle with lateral movement and adjustment speed, but his size and intelligence can somewhat make up for it. Best suited for a gap-power scheme that will allow him to come off the ball downhill and get movement with his powerful hands, heavy frame, and long arms. He is a safe bet to be a starter in the league. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Wisconsin-Whitewater

Projected Round: 3/4

Ourlads' Snippet - He is a plus athlete with the exact type of body and power you would expect from a Wisconsin axe man. Plays with grit, intelligence, and strength that rarely comes out of the Division III level. While the jump in competition is enormous and he did have to spend 2020 on the outside looking in, he is a safe bet to start at one of the three inside positions within a year or two at the next level. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Alabama

Projected Round: 3/4

Ourlads' Snippet - He has an NFL body and power presence right now. Will undoubtedly be ready to step into an NFL offensive line week one if needed. The question will revolve around where he is best suited. The physical talent should land him at guard, where his overwhelming strength, length, and quickness can be most effectively used. No matter what, this is a starting caliber player that will increase the mauling at the point of attack for any offensive line. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Illinois

Projected Round: 3/4

Ourlads' Snippet - The feisty and powerful guard is as talented at center as he is flanking the pivot. His use of hands to stab, punch, and control his opponent is unsurpassed for interior linemen in this draft. After his powerful six-inch punch he will grab and toss any defender battling to get to the ball carrier. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Notre Dame

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - A powerful and huge blocking presence who plays with balance and anchor. Flashes a heavy-handed punch. Strong on down blocks. Good base in pass protection. Looks like a freight train when he pulls. Adjusts on the run. However he is more of an inside the box physical dominator than a space player. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

South Carolina

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - Powerful base that will stop a train if he is squared up. Really heavy mitts attached to a good lockout game. Gets downfield movement even when he is pass blocking. Strong presence at all times that can recover. Has played multiple positions at a high level. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Georgia

Projected Round: 4/5

Ourlads' Snippet - Will almost always be the biggest guy in the room. He is tall and long with a strongman’s body type. His immense muscle mass is lean enough to keep away useless weight. His hand strength and upper body drive is enough to send seasoned NFL veterans violently backwards. Can factor right away in an offense that goes for downhill push more than lateral movement. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Notre Dame

Projected Round: 5/6

Ourlads' Snippet - Overall, Kraemer projects as a backup guard for a gap scheme. He enters the NFL with size, pedigree, and experience but his waist bending will get him beat. Mauler who gets movement and finishes blocks. Versatile with starting experience at tackle and guard. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Texas Tech

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - Doesn’t have an overly impressive toolbox when it comes to size and athletic ability, but he is a natural competitor with a nasty punch. May need to make a move to center. Projects to being a backup at the next level with the potential of developing into a valuable sixth lineman. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Middle Tennessee

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - He has the ideal body type for the interior and his skill set matches up there as well. Has a snappy, explosive upper body that can gain control after the initial punch. Has extra pop and the foot speed post-engagement is a plus as well. Needs to get more consistent with his technique all around before he can be put into a starting lineup, but the ceiling is there to be a solid player. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Colorado

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - Has career starts at both left and right tackle. Projects inside at guard due to his lack of edge length. Thick-bodied athlete who plays with a good base in pass pro. Keeps his head on a swivel to help his guard. Good awareness. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Alabama

Projected Round: 6/7

Ourlads' Snippet - He is an absolute mauler who could hold his ground against an 18-wheeler rolling down hill. Absorbs contact like it’s nothing and shows some twitch in tight spaces. He will be one of the heaviest players in the NFL, but one can question if he has too much bad weight that inhibits necessary movement traits for the position. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Grambling

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - A short and thick blocker who plays high but aggressive. Flashes a punch that could rival a Missouri mule’s kick. He has decleated more than one opponent in his career. Gets strong push in the run game and flashes an explosive blow to gain an advantage. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Mississippi

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Spent a season at guard and one at tackle. Better suited for guard where he can use his ability to play low and strong with limited space windows for defenders around him to use. Has a lot of natural knee bend and shows the ability to stay square with his hands attached. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

Penn State

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - Projects inside at guard but his versatility across the offensive line is welcomed by NFL coaches. Plays square and mirrors defenders away from the quarterback in pass protection. Big and physical. Works defender around the pile protecting his passer. Order the Ourlads' Draft Guide for the full report.

California

Projected Round: 7/PFA

Ourlads' Snippet - His size and athleticism limitations will likely move him inside at the next level, a spot that also suits his style of play. He is a no-nonsense, physical player who gets after his target. He strikes hard initially and will maintain aggression and hustle throughout the entire play.
