Four-year starter, Houston, TX. Four-time first-team All-SWAC. Undersized offensive lineman in terms of weight. Projects best as an interior lineman. Creates push at the line-of-scrimmage on base and down blocks utilizing good functional strength and hand usage. Lands his hands with considerable strength, proper timing, and in a good position to help steer his defender where he wants him to go. Has solid lower body movement with excellent knee and ankle flexion. He shows acceleration when climbing to the second level and will engage second level defenders with power and physicality. Shows a nastiness to his game and takes pride in driving defenders into the dirt. Can handle his own in pass protection with good foot quickness, strength at the point-of-attack, and hand usage. He can stalemate edge defenders and interior defensive linemen at the line-of-scrimmage. His lack of weight makes it difficult for him to anchor and take on bullrushes, as he will often get driven back with the inability to plant his feet and hold his ground. Will often overset and lacks ideal short-area agility to run the circle versus edge rushers. Struggles with speed rush moves. Needs to improve his contact balance as he can get knocked off his platform when defenders engage with power. Has problems staying connected to defenders as a result. Is also prone to holding penalties. Although he played tackle he projects to guard which will alleviate some of his deficiencies. Is a developmental prospect.
