Ourlads' Profile:
2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about KENNEDY BROOKS:
Oklahoma, 5105 209 4.59. Three-year starter, Mansfield, TX. Sat out the 2020 season due to Covid-19. Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2019, second-team in 2020. Came to Oklahoma with a recurring shoulder injury that began in high school which led to a redshirt. When looking strictly at the film Brooks is easy to like. He runs like a pro when looking at several angles. His tempo, vision, and decision making will bring him to a much higher level than his tools suggest. Does not have stand out triangle numbers. Won’t be a blazer in the open field, nor does he play overly big. However, this is a back who fully understands the intricacies of the position. He stays within the scheme and knows when to get to the next gear. The contact balance and mental side will create production as a solid complementary back. Shows the necessary blend of patience and aggression. Will keep the feet active and ready to pounce as the play develops in front of him. Excellent vision which leads to excellent decision making. Has the contact balance to absorb heavy hits while keeping his momentum moving forward. Precise timing with his footwork, stiff arms, and change of hip-angles. Smooth hands-catcher that easily tuck and moves north. Does not have enough pure speed or explosion to create big plays from small opportunities. Will struggle to create a lot on his own. Lower half plays small at times. Small hands could lead to ball security issues. Too relaxed as a blocker. Needs to show more grit and hand strength.
2021 stats: 1253 yds, 6.3 ypc, 13 TD. OSR:21/28. Sixth/seventh round. (A-30 1/4, H-7 5/8, BP-14, SS-4.40).
