Ourlads' Profile:
2017 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ELIJAH LEE: Kansas State, 6024 229 4.69. Junior entry. Two-year starter from Blue Springs, MO. All-Big 12 first-team in 2016, second-team in 2015. Started as a Will linebacker in the Kansas State 4-2-5 base defense. Led the team in tackles as a sophomore and junior. Good initial key, diagnose, and reaction. Plays quickly downhill and can get ball side leverage on blocks working to the alley. Somewhat prone to misdirection and lacks the power and bend to redirect consistently off a block. Some wasted steps in change of direction at times. Not the best take on guy as he can get upright and stuck on a block. Struggles to shed versus a powerful offensive lineman. Good pursuit angles and fits well off-tackle. Chase backside with a good angle, working through blocks. Good range in pursuit with the speed to chase to the sideline and across the field. Takes good pass drops and has the speed to run the seam with an inside receiver. Closes well on the ball. Can be a little slow seeing the quarterback and receivers in the short zones. Needs to pick up the delivery key a little quicker in zone coverage. Has some man skill with the ability to mirror and stay in phase on a vertical release. Solid tackling skill but needs to consistently gather as he will miss in space. Has the playing speed and enough athletic ability to project well to the NFL. Has a lot of upside but will need some technique work and time with a strength program to develop. 2016 stats: 110 T, 6.5 TFL, 1.5 sacks, 5 PBU, 1 FF, 2 INT. Not invited to Combine. Seventh round/PFA. (A-31 1/2, H-9, BP-18, SS-4.37).
