Ourlads' Profile:
2019 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about PRESTON WILLIAMS: Colorado State, 6042 210 4.57. One year starter from Lovejoy, GA. After two quiet years at Tennessee, Williams transferred to Colorado State and fell into trouble away from the field with a domestic violence incident. After being suspended and reinstated, he finally found his flow last fall and left an impression that left coaches saying he was the most talented receiver they have ever been around. An accomplished triple jump track athlete, he has a very unique blend of size, foot quickness, and ball skills. There simply aren’t many pass catchers who possess this combination of tools and skills. On a weekly basis, he would make multiple eye-opening impressions with difficult catches made easy, route running, and body control. If he can stay clean off the field, he has star-potential. Tall and long with an unusual amount if twitch and agility for a player his size. Gets off the line a variety of ways. Can stutter step his way into routes or long stride his way into space. Elite body control near the boundaries as he attacks the ball. Very space aware and knows exactly where he needs to land. Can twist and turn to adjust to poorly thrown balls with ease and comfort. Snares the ball with his hands, makes the difficult catch look routine. Can win the 50/50 battles consistently. Comes from a pro-offense concept wise and runs his routes sharp and crisp. Has bounced around throughout his college career and has seen more than his fair share of trouble off the field. Not a clean prospect and he will need extra screening. Doesn’t have the next gear to get behind, and stay behind the secondary. Will need to play a more physical game at his size/speed ratio. Effort is off and on. 2018 stats: 96-1345, 14.0 ypr, 14 TD. Not invited to Combine. Fourth/fifth round. (A-NA, H-NA, VJ-31.5, SS-4.35).
