Very little high school experience but was an outstanding track athlete. Still learning to play linebacker he was used as an overhang player and in the box at Colorado. Has outstanding speed to chase and makes plays across the field. Athletic with fluid change of direction with ability to make plays in space. Explosive tackling with knee bend and finish. Has coverage potential and has displayed solid matchup skills covering tight ends, backs, and occasionally a slot receiver. Has mirror ability and keeps his focus on the receiver. Has the speed to stay in phase on vertical routes. As a zone defender takes quick spot drops and flashes ball reactions. Some hesitation with initial read causes him to get out of position on blocks. Lacks consistent use of hands which inhibits his ability to shed a block. Struggles in zone coverage to process route combinations. Can be slow to react on the throw as he tends to focus on either the quarterback or one receiver. Needs to expand his awareness moving forward. Has been moved to nickel to take advantage of his speed and athletic ability. A projection at the next level but his athletic ability will get him drafted. A developmental prospect in any scheme but has sub package potential. Should be an outstanding special teams player. Senior Bowl notes: Flashed downhill ability but was inconsistent with fits at inside gaps. Can be slow to react and will misread at times. Too easily moved out inline.
