Ourlads' Profile:

2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about D’VONTE PRICE:

Florida International, 6013 210 4.38. Two-year starter, Punta Gorda, FL. Saw time in 10 games as a true freshman. His breakout year was 2020 where he garnered Honorable Mention All-Conference USA honors. Low center of gravity runner, who is built like a bowling ball. Has the size and appearance to be a primary back, however he lacks the consistency and skill level of an every down back. At times displayed trouble balancing, which can be directly attributed to his narrow running base. Runs extremely upright, and at times allows defenders under his pads. Doesn’t break near enough tackles for his stature, mostly due to high running style. Has breakaway speed for a bigger back. Indecisive runner at times. Has impressive build up speed, but lacks initial burst out of cuts. If he clears the second level he has the long speed to make defenses pay. Struggles to break first level tackles when run blocking breaks down. Displays limited elusiveness and wiggle. An instinctual runner who has repeatedly shown big play ability. Flashed route running ability out of the backfield at times and appears to be functionally fluid as a receiver. Physical pass protector, who at times struggles to stay with defenders and has poor hand placement. As a blocker, he seeks the knock-out shot and suffers from poor recovery if the defender is not defeated on initial contact. For his size, he struggles to win in short yardage situations. Poor balance also hinders his ability to fluidly change course if track is disrupted. A true track runner who will benefit from a scheme fit. Best scheme fit seems to be a gap scheme or downhill inside zone team. Struggles at times with ball security, lets the ball get away from his body when he gets up to his top gear.

2021 stats: 682 yds, 5.3 ypc, 6 TD. OSR:6/28. Fifth/sixth round. (A-31 1/2, H-9 3/8, BP-DNP, SS-4.47).
