2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about YUSUF CORKER:
Kentucky, 5114 203 4.50. Three-year starter, McDonough, GA. Second-team All-SEC in 2020. Instinctive safety with a football IQ. Has played one and two high along with quarters and in the box. As a deep safety, has the ability to read route combinations and react to the quarterback’s delivery key. Has range in the deep zones to get over the top and make plays on the ball. Solid ball skills he can track deep balls and go up and get it. Quick to plant and drive on throws in front he has made several plays on the ball including some spectacular interceptions. Can get his hands in the catch basket. Can also extend to the catch point getting under intermediate routes. In a Cover four flat foot read, he shows a quick downhill burst getting to the alley in run support. Contains well from the box and distance. He can lay a big hit when squared up. Has been used to blitz off the edge and made several plays in the backfield. Hip tightness inhibits his lateral agility and ability to tackle in space. Has overrun some tackles versus a shifty runner. Has barely hung on or missed as a result. Can wrap up if he maintains back hip leverage but adjusting to a cutback is average. Corker has been a quality player and his football smarts and instincts have gone a long way to overcome some athletic deficiency. The number of missed tackles is a problem for a safety and that will need to be addressed.
