2022 Guide: What Ourlads’ NFL Scouting Services said about DAI’JEAN DIXON:
Nicholls State, 6025 205 4.58. Five-year starter, New Orleans, LA. Earned All-Southland Conference honors four times, first team three times. The cousin of Tampa Bay linebacker Deion Jones, Dixon rewrote the record book at Nicholls State formerly held by ex-NFL receiver Mark Carrier. Dominated at the FCS level. His size, hands, and uncanny sense of spacing in relation to both defenders and boundaries made him an inviting target with a high success rate. The jump in competition will take time and he will have a hard time adjusting to pro speed. Did not time well and there is a lack of suddenness to his movement. Projects as a backup that will need to shine in traffic to stick around. Toughness and desire to attack the ball in the air will complement his size. Can shield defensive backs away with his wide and long frame, but also shows power forward-type awareness when it comes to spacing. A red-zone threat. Will track the ball over his shoulder on deep vertical routes without losing his sense of balance and relation to boundaries. Lacks the final gear once in space to get behind defensive backs. Too many extra steps when making lateral cuts as a route runner. Will struggle to consistently get himself open. Blocking and physical nature without the ball need to be more consistent.
