Ourlads' Profile:
2018 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about ARMANI WATTS: Texas A&M, 5104 202 4.48. Four-year starter from Forney, TX. He flashes playmaking ability with the knack for the turnover. Has fluid hips and smooth movements with very good change of direction. Smooth backpedal in the deep zones with the ability to flip his hips to get to a route. Opens up well in deep coverage and can undercut a route to get to the ball. Will also play close to the line and shows range and quick reactions in the short flat. Vision to see the quarterback and multiple receivers in zone coverage. Closes void areas well. Good ball skills for the pass break timing his hands to the catch point. Strong hands for the interception getting to the high point. Sudden break on the ball with crisp timing. Has match-up ability but is inconsistent. Will bite on a double move at times. Questionable speed to stay with a speed receiver on a vertical route. Inconsistent in run support. Has made some big plays behind the line of scrimmage. Not a great take-on guy but does a good job sifting through the wash and avoiding blocks. Takes good angles to the ball and can make plays in space. Will be late to the play at times. Shows good blitz skill close to the line and can adjust well to a shifty back or quarterback. Will take chances going for the strip instead of the tackle causing an occasional miss. Has shown return skill in the past but was rarely used in that capacity. Watts is a solid cover safety with the potential for more. 2017 stats: 87 T, 10 TFL, .5 sack, 5 PBU, 2 FF, 2 BK, 4 INT. BTR:left 4.91, right 5.20. Did not run at Combine, his choice. Second/third round. (A-31, H-8 3/4, VJ-35, SS-4.37).
