Ourlads' Profile:

2015 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about LA'EL COLLINS: LSU, 6044 305 5.12. Three year starter from Baton Rouge, LA who logged extensive minutes at both guard and tackle. Projects inside at guard for the next level. Collins is durable with no injury history. Played against NFL caliber defensive linemen every day in practice at LSU and every weekend in the SEC. Was a 5-star recruit who lived up to the billing, earning all conference and All-America honors. Is more effective drive blocking at this point but has the footwork and athleticism to become an upper echelon pass blocker. Has the versatility to play multiple spots. Has a thick and powerful frame. A quick first step and can get off on the ball. Has a strong punch and when he gets good hand placement, locks on for control. Quick feet and moves well. Good lateral mobility and can effectively get to second level. Mirrors and redirects in pass pro and takes good angles on drive blocks. When he stays square and doesn’t overextend he can be a very effective pass protector. Shows good awareness for stunts and blitzes and keeps head on a swivel. Does a good job keeping his feet moving and blocks through defenders. Plays through the whistle with a nasty streak. Overextends at times and can be beat with an inside counter move. Lacks ideal length to play tackle at next level. OSR:17/ 41. First/second round. (A-33 1/4, H-10 3/4, BP-21, 10-1.83).
