2021 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about HAMILCAR RASHED JR.: Oregon State, 6031 254 4.62. Three year starter, Phoenix, AZ. Physical and athletic prospect with excellent length and wing span for the edge. Played a traditional 3-4 outside linebacker in the base defense and defensive end in the even front. Played from a two point stance primarily in a wide nine alignment. Plays with a lot of energy and second effort. Quick at the snap he shows a powerful punch separating and shedding blocks. Solid lateral movement and agility he sets the edge and consistently made plays in pursuit. Explosive tackler he gathers and drives through tackles. Long arms give him a tackle radius that allowed him to make some outstanding plays in chase mode. Excellent backside pursuit he consistently chased plays down from behind. As a pass rusher he is relentless with effort. Normally sudden at the snap he can crowd a blocker and work outside with an occasional inside counter move. Flashes a push pull and club to get around the edge. Keeps coming and has several sacks on second effort. Has a closing burst when free. While not often used in coverage he showed ability to drop to the short zones at the Senior Bowl. Has knocked down some quick passes at the line with leaping ability and length. Coming out of his two point he can get upright and let a blocker get into his frame locking him up. At this point he is more about effort and athleticism than technique. Will have to develop more pass rush technique to play against NFL tackles. His frame may dictate playing outside linebacker and if so he will need work in coverage. Solid tools and productivity could get him drafted on day two. 2020 stats; 23 T, 2 TFL, 1 PBU, 1 FF, 1 BK. Fourth/ fifth round. (A-33 3/4, H-10 1/8, BP-25, SS-4.50, VJ-35.5).
