Ourlads' Profile:

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about MARK FIELDS: Clemson, 5097 192 4.38. From Charlotte, NC and has never been a full time starter at Clemson but has been a valuable reserve. This includes coming off the bench in the national championship game and playing solid while Alabama went after him. Discipline issues and injuries have factored into only six starts in his career. Has blazing speed for the position and flashes cover skill. Reactive lining up close to receivers. Shows foot quickness to cut off route breaks. Rarely gives up leverage. In off man can get out of his pedal, turn and run, and stay with vertical routes. Recovers well if separated on a cut. Can be disruptive and lock a receiver out on the sideline. Flashes ball skills getting to the catch point running with a vertical. Can be physical tackling with an explosive strike and finish. Can separate a receiver from the ball with a big hit. As a zone defender can be slow to process routes and the quarterback. Will get out of position as a result. Back pedal can be labored leaving him vulnerable to receivers pressing him before he can turn. Has some occasional hesitancy in reactions and can give up too much room on the shorter throws. Has had some trouble sticking to responsibility in zone which may have contributed to his not starting. Has flashed enough along with the Alabama game and Senior Bowl to get onto draft boards. Has special teams’ aptitude and could fit as a backup/nickel corner. 2018 stats: 7 T, 5 PBU. BTR:left 5.12, right 5.26. OSR:6/33. Sixth/seventh round. (A-30 1/2, H-9 1/ 8, VJ-31.5, SS-DNP).
