Ourlads' Profile:

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about GERALD WILLIS III: Miami, 6016 302 5.10. One year starter from New Orleans, LA. Began his career at Florida. After a few run-ins with the coaching staff, Willis was kicked out of the Gators’ program and landed at Miami. After more personal issues in 2017 that kept him on the scout team, he came back on fire as a fifth year senior and put together an All-America season. Willis is a three technique that has shown more than enough ability and potential. A true disruptor that makes the offensive line adjust to him. If he can stay clean and drama free, he is some simple development away from being a dangerous force. Exceptionally quick and powerful out of his snap. Has a lot of pop out of his stance and can immediately put a blocker on his heels. Shoots the gaps in either direction with strength and balance. Doesn’t settle for the initial advantage, he is hungry for the action. Does a great job of reading blocks and locating the ball. Can break free at any given moment with a last second burst to the ball. A lot of power presence and athleticism as he sifts through traffic. Stays on his feet in the mess and gets involved in the take down. Needs better hand placement to control bigger, more powerful blockers. Does not anchor against the double team, too much backwards movement. Pad level is inconsistent, as is the effort. Engine definitely has on on/off switch. Skill set as a pass rusher needs to be refined and cleaned up. Has some character flaws that will need to be looked into. 2018 stats: 59 T, 18 TFL, 4 sacks, 2 PBU, 5 QBH. Medical exclusion at Combine, left groin. Third/fourth round. (A-33, H-8 1/2, BP-DNP, 10-DNP).
