Ourlads' Profile:

2019 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about RYAN FINLEY: North Carolina State, 6040 213 4.71. Three-year starter from Phoenix. AZ. Transferred from Boise State. A rhythm type passer who can throw over the defense with timing and anticipation. Has good feel for the throw. Throws a catchable pass and keeps his receivers on routes with few adjustments. Stands tall in the pocket. Does a good job of zipping back shoulder throws to his receivers. Has a quick release. Quick catch from center then it’s out of his hand on short routes. Keeps his eyes down the field. Has taken snaps under center as well as in the shotgun. Finley’s yards per attempt have gradually gone up over the year, concluding at 8.1 yards his senior year. Does a nice job of setting up screen passes. Poised and no panic under a heavy rush. Good footwork in the pocket. Extends the play if his receivers are covered. Does not scramble for big gains. Fundamentally sound, always throwing under control and with his feet under him. Has a quick delivery with no wasted motion. Consistent ball placement to receivers. Makes good decisions. Avoids big mistakes. Has no problem throwing the ball away. Good movement skills in the pocket. Has the feet and feel to sidestep a rush. Has the ability to make plays on the move, left and right. Can reset his body with balance to make a quick and accurate throw. Moves up in the pocket and steps into his passes. Has courage in the pocket. Tough kid that can take a hit. Led the ACC in completion percentage, yards, yards per attempt, passing attempts, and yards per game with 302.2. Will be a 24-year old rookie after earning an undergraduate degree in three years at Boise State. Also has two master’s degrees from NC State. Processes information quickly and acts on that information. Makes decisions that will not get a team beat. Has the ability to manage the game from start to finish. Has a slender build at 213 pounds but the frame to add 15-17 pounds of good weight. A better athlete than advertised. Has a chance to be an eventual starter with developmental time. 2018 stats: 326/484, 3928 yds, 67.4%, 25 TD, 11 INT, 21 yds rushing, 1 TD, 148.0 QB rating. Ball velocity 55 mph. OSR:6/16.
