Week 6 was just a typical week that brought us devastating injuries and a handful of players that resurfaced from the doldrums and could help your fantasy roster.
Here is a list of those worth targeting.
WR Eric Decker, Tennessee Titans…Decker may have had his breakout game last night versus Indianapolis, catching seven passes for 88 yards on a team-high nine targets from the hamstrung, immobile Marcus Mariota. It was really just a matter of time before the proven wideout became a factor, so you can safely scoop him off the waiver wire.
RB Matt Forte, New York Jets…Forte was back last weekend after dealing with turf toe that kept him out the previous two weeks. It was perfect timing, since Bilal Powell missed Week 6 with an injured calf. Forte rushed for only 22 yards on nine carries, but was a major part of the passing game with eight catches for 59 yards. The Jets’ backfield is crowded, but it’s clear that if Forte remains healthy he’ll get touches.
QB Brett Hundley, Green Bay Packers…The Aaron Rodgers injury was obviously the week’s most jarring and probably the biggest one we will see this season. It will take the league, team and even fans some time to regroup, but the current reality is that Brett Hundley is now the man in Green Bay. Hundley should be given a pass for his less than stellar performance on Sunday, based on pure shock factor. But, he showed small signs of potential and Packers’ coach Mike McCarthy expressed confidence in the third-year pro and showed no signs of signing Colin Kaepernick. Green Bay sill has plenty of offensive weapons, so Hundley could be a shrewd pickup.
Others to consider…
RB Chris Ivory, Jacksonville Jaguars…Nine catches for 74 yards and a touchdown vs. the Rams.
QB Case Keenum, Minnesota Vikings…Looks like he’s settling in to being the man in Minnesota.
TE George Kittle, San Francisco 49ers…The rookie out of Iowa has 17 targets in his last two games.
WR Marquis Lee, Jacksonville Jaguars…Five catches and a team-high 83 yards and 10 targets, Sunday.
