Ourlads' Profile:

2016 Guide: What Ourlads' NFL Scouting Services said about DAK PRESCOTT: Mississippi State, 6022 226 4.78. Three-year starter from Haughton, LA. Arguably the best and most decorated player in Bulldog history, owns 38 school records. A natural leader who is durable and tough. Poised, athletic, instinctive, and smart with good field vision. Built like a running back with a thick upper and lower body. Plays in a spread offense featuring horizontal passes to his wide receivers and backs. Has good vertical arm strength and timing when he is called on to pass downfield. He owns the best winning percentage in team history and along with Head Coach Dan Mullen, has been the major force in Mississippi State’s program turnaround. The two-time All-America and All-SEC quarterback has a quick release with accuracy in the short and intermediate game. A dual threat as a passer and a runner. Demonstrates positive production on designed running plays with speed and toughness to take on defenders. Shows accuracy on the move outside the pocket. The poised graduate student plays well under pressure and doesn’t get rattled. He has good vision, always keeping his eyes down the field. Prescott is athletic with the ball when he pulls it down to run. Despite his natural running ability, he is first a passer who moves well in the pocket under game and rush pressure. This past fall the Bulldog line was a team weakness, yet Prescott answered the bell time and time again after being pressured and sacked, particularly versus Alabama and Mississippi. He clearly proved that he could take a big hit. With a new center, the shotgun snaps were all over the place - high and low, left and right, which throws off the play’s timing, but the veteran quarterback handled the snaps calmly with no panic and played with confidence. Efficient in his play. Has a good football IQ that he transfers his knowledge to the field. Plays “hot potato” between catching the snap and getting the ball out to the receivers on screen passes and hitch routes. Smooth, easy, and effortless in his get away from center at the Combine and Senior Bowl. Displays positive and dynamic body language as a field general. Looks comfortable on the field. Had a string of 288 passes without an interception. A great effort player who can extend plays in the pocket. Strong in the pocket with tacklers around his legs. Has all the physical tools and mental capabilities to make the transition to the NFL and earn a starting position.Has some Brett Favre grit in him. In mid-March, Prescott was issued a ticket for DUI and speeding after spending the day hosting a football camp for 200 youngsters in Starksville. He took two breathalyzer tests after the traffic stop and both turned out to be inconclusive. The arrest was a surprise because of his top level maturity and respect among the Mississippi State community. Prescott was the winner of the 2015 Senior Class Award which is given to the top NCAA FBS senior student-athlete who best exemplifies four areas - community, classroom, character, and competitiveness. 2015 stats: 316/477, 3793 yds, 66.2%, 29 TD, 5 INT, 588 yds rushing, 10 TD, 151.0 QB rating. Ball velocity 54 mph. OSR:7/18. Second round. (A-32 1/4, H-10, SS-4.32, VJ-32.5).
